Low Cost Concrete Floor Staining

This is not an article for those who like acid wash concrete. The idea is to always look the same, for less than half the cost of the acid-staining!

First, you need to gather your supplies. You can at any local DIY store like Home Depot, Lowes, Ace Hardware, etc. You'll need to find a solid concrete stain, I recommend two colors to each other thus a complementary tan and dark brown. Concrete sealer, which is so different gloss levelsto decide whether you are looking for a flat floor or your looking for a slightly shiny, and you have enough use to seal your floor 6-8 times viewed. You also need a cheap sprayer gallons, so make sure it has an adjustable nozzle. A long handled roller with a semi-professional color and smooth nap. Surfaces, and of course you are plastic and require a different painters tape to protect. And a big piece of cardboard or test room that you do not mind disarray.

Second, remove all furniture from the room and make sureYou prep your surface and the surrounding areas well. I recommend for 4-6 feet on the wall, so that you avoid over, spray paint and in contact with up to. Make sure you sweep or vacuum really well, for what it is on the ground, is always on the floor when the same process.

Now you are ready to begin! Mix concrete stain, as well as color, it separates and must be mixed. Cautiously your surface, pour in your spot sprayer. Replace cap andif necessary, pump sprayers to prepare for spraying. Test your pattern on some cardboard or another room you do not mind will mess up, I tried it on my garage floor. Be sure to keep the spray a few feet above the ground, otherwise you will get puddles stains when you click on Looking for splatters of discoloration. If you are with the look that you create, go to your prepared soil comfortable working. Remember, you are not trying to completely cover the groundtry for a natural stone look. Here I recommend the edges with the aim of a few feet from the floor all the way to get to the edge and not puddle, but you are looking to go for the splatter. Make sure you work yourself out the door, instead of in a corner ... You do not want to stand around and do not wait too dry for 4 hours or so! Pour left over, it is again in the original container stain and clean the syringe is ready for your next color! The entire processshould not take very long, my 130 square meters of space has to get dressed, only about 45 minutes a mantle.

Then the recommended time to wait before starting the second layer. After the first coat is dry, repeat the process from the first layer, filling in the areas that you had less splatter in and for the areas that you are too much of the other color. Here, too, wait until dry, the second layer. If you are with the way your pattern turned out to drive you happy with your floor seal. If younot entirely happy with the pattern color to keep layering the different colors until you are satisfied with the pattern. The sealer will not change the look, unless you have a semi-gloss sealer, it is easy to seal, to prevent scratching it. I have three layers and the third layer, I used a hand sprayer so I could get a fine mist and a smaller area of concern, because the bleach has Sprayer is a broader area.

When you are ready, pour your sealing in a roller tray, a good amountpaint on your role, just as you would, and then start rolling the floor. Again, do not forget yourself rolling out of rooms instead of in the corner! Then the recommended time to wait for the sealant to dry, then go with the rest of the waiting time between coats for each coat to dry.

Done! Remove the plastic back and floor coverings, furniture in the room, and enjoy your place!
